Pratyush Karan is a distinguished medical student at the Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (IPGME&R) and SSKM Hospital, Kolkata, India. He has consistently excelled academically, securing the first rank in both his 1st and 2nd Professional MBBS Examinations, with distinctions in all subjects. His academic achievements have been recognized with gold medals in Biochemistry, Pathology, Pharmacology, and Microbiology. Pratyush's research interests lie in immunology, cancer biology, and neuroscience. He has contributed to studies on breast cancer awareness, neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) in rheumatoid arthritis, and depression in PCOS patients. He has also collaborated on a national study on the impact of short video use on developing brains in India. His research findings have been presented at national-level conferences, including AIIMS CRISP and stroke symposia. Pratyush has actively participated in global programs, such as the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) program in Pharmacogenetics and Precision Medicine at Keck Graduate Institute, USA. His leadership roles include serving as a senior class assistant, a state organizing head in national quizzes, and a student representative in anti-ragging and disciplinary committees.
