Sara Malafa is a fifth-year medical student at the University of Pisa and a Medical Science Scholar at the Sant Anna School of Advanced Studies, a leading public university focused on research. With a deep passion for oncology, she is dedicated to integrating her medical studies with a profound understanding of the molecular mechanisms that govern cancer biology. As an aspiring physician-scientist, Sara is committed to advancing cancer research and ultimately contributing to the search for a cure. Sara has gained experience in both preclinical and clinical oncology research, primarily focused on colorectal cancer (CRC), through opportunities at prestigious institutions such as the Italian Institute for the Study and Prevention of Cancer, King's College London, and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Beyond her academic and research pursuits, Sara actively volunteers with Agbalt, a Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Support Association, where she organizes activities and coordinates charity events.
