Dear IJMS Readers,

We are pleased to announce that the International Journal of Medical Students (IJMS) is now accepting applications for all editorial positions for the upcoming cycle. We encourage motivated medical students and recent graduates from around the world to apply.

Please carefully review the full application form before submitting your materials. All required fields, documents, and training certificates must be completed to be considered. Selected applicants will be contacted by the Editorial Board for the next steps.

As a reminder, official certification is granted only after completing one full year of active service, and all senior appointees are expected to support, guide, and mentor junior members as part of our commitment to developing the next generation of medical editors.

Below are the positions available:

  • Junior Student Editor – Entry-level role for current medical students. No prior publications required.

  • Student Editor – For medical students with ≥1 PubMed-indexed publication.

  • Junior Associate Editor – For students or recent graduates (≤2 years) with prior IJMS experience and some PubMed publications.

  • Associate Editor – Supervises Student Editors and ensures review quality; strong publication record required.

  • Student Editor-in-Chief – Leads the student editorial team (≥1 year IJMS service, ≥2 PubMed publications).

  • Deputy Editor – Supports the Editor-in-Chief in operations and partnerships (≥1 year IJMS service).

  • Scientific Editor – Ensures scientific rigor; ≥1 year IJMS service and ≥3 PubMed publications.

  • Director of Communications and Public Relations – Manages IJMS communications, social media, and outreach.

  • Fundraiser Manager – Leads financial support strategies, sponsorships, and fundraising initiatives.

All applicants must provide:

  • Complete academic and contact information

  • ORCID, Web of Science, and Google Scholar links

  • A combined CV + Motivation Letter (single file, max 10 MB)

  • A professional photo

  • A single PDF containing the three mandatory Web of Science Academy certificates:

    • Introduction to Peer Review

    • Reviewing in the Sciences

    • Good Citation Behavior
