Kevouy Richard Reid

Kevouy Richard Reid is a recently appointed Senior Student Editor at IJMS. He is a physician and early career researcher with an undergraduate medical degree from the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus in Jamaica. Kevouy is currently looking to pursue a Master’s Degree in Epidemiology/Public Health. Dr. Reid has a passion for research in global health, global surgery, NCD’s and ENT disorders. This has led him to secure collaborations with major international academic organizations like the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA), International Student Surgical Network (InciSioN) and the Gender Equity in Global Surgery Initiative (GEIGS). Dr. Reid has successfully co-authored papers in World Journal of Surgery and International Journal of Medical Students. He was a presenter at the 2021 Bethune Roundtable Global Surgery Conference and a member of the InciSioN collaborative poster presentation at the 2021 American College of Surgeons Clinical Symposium. Dr. Reid currently serves secretary for the Global Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery Initiative. Mr. Kevouy matches his commitment to medicine with a similar level of dedication to nation building and civic responsibilities. He is the current Lieutenant Governor for the Optimist International Caribbean District (2023-2024) as well as he has served executive roles in numerous local service clubs. He is a former member of the National Youth Parliament of Jamaica and a recipient of the 2021 Governor General’s Achievement Award.
