Siddhant Govekar

Siddhant Govekar is a medical student at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rishikesh, India. He is currently in his third year of undergraduate medical studies. Aspiring to be a top-notch clinician and heal the world around him, he has a deep passion for medical research. His research interests lie in Infectious Diseases, Cardiology, and Neurology.

While excelling in his academics with several gold medals from his Institute to his name, he has been relentless in his quest to acquire the skills for research and develop a scientific temperament. He has been a part of several research projects in his institute, spanning across the domains of Surgery, Psychiatry, Infectious Diseases, and Public Health. His work has received prestigious National Grants, such as the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Short Term Studentship (STS).

His work has also been recognized and presented at several national and international conferences, some of which include the European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ECCMID) and the 70th Annual Meet of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP).

Besides clinical research, he also has a keen interest in the basic sciences and translational sciences. He has been a part of training and workshops at several labs to equip himself with the skills and knowledge regarding basic science research.

He strives to share his experiences and generate greater curiosity among his medical peers towards research. He has conducted several workshops as the President of the Student Research Club at his institute and as the National Officer for Research in India for the Asian Medical Students’ Association (AMSA).
