Ciara Egan

Ciara Egan is the Deputy Editor of the IJMS. 

She is a medical student in her final year at Humanitas University in Milan, Italy. She holds two Bachelor of Science Degrees from the University of Maryland, in Biological Sciences and Nutritional Sciences. At both the University of Maryland and Humanitas University she has trained in programs focused on developing physician-scientists and hopes to pursue a career in academic medicine. Her research focuses during medical school have included a student’s review on COVID-19, surgical oncology, and gastroenterology. She has been with the IJMS since 2020 and is very grateful for this continuous learning experience.
