Eleni Georgiadi

A highly motivated and determined Mathematics graduate and a 5th year medical student, with outstanding fourteen years of teaching experience (IB, O and A levels instructor and tutor for national and global mathematics competitions), communication, organizational and people skills.

She has a BSc in Mathematics from National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) with possession of both Theoretical and Applied Mathematics specialization provided by the department. She has a MSc in Pure Mathematics from the same University and now she is a PhD candidate. At the same time, she is a fifth-year-medical-student at NKUA having achieved so far significant distinctions in the level of her studies, including scholarships from England, distinction in the Elsevier World Student Knowledge Competition from her pre-clinical years, participation in International and National conferences both with posters and oral presentations. She has attended First Aid courses and for the last two years she is a Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor.

In 2023, the Greek Centre of Innovation and Entrepreneurship "Archimedes" accepted her idea/project: "Development of a deep machine learning software through which vertebral and rib fractures can be directly and easily detected using face/profile chest X-rays” in the framework of the 1st Student Competition of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and now she is in the process of implementing this idea so that her software can be used by major hospitals and health centres, too.

She has been invited as a speaker in seminars for Mathematics and Medicine with interesting topics some of which are Prostate cancer in transgender women, CT-guided transforaminal intrathecal Nusinersen (Spinraza) injection in adults with Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 2 and severe spinal deformity from the medical field and The Hopf-Rinow theory and applications, The definition of the Housedorff space and the physiological space in relation to the totally arranged, The ordinal numbers and their properties and Introduction to tensor products and applications in G4 and Q2 Group from the field of Mathematics.

Her medical interest is about vascular surgery and endovascular procedures. She has six scientific publications in PubMed in Journals with high IF (greater than 3.5) while three more of her scientific papers are in the process of being published.
