Khadija Ussi

Khadija Khamis Ussi is a fifth-year medical student at Kairuki University in Dar es salaam, Tanzania.with a keen interest in research, medical education, and community health. She has conducted an elective research study on mental health, gaining experience in proposal development, data collection, analysis, and reporting. In addition to her academic work, she has been actively involved in leadership and project coordination. As Assistant Project Chair of the Rotaract Club of Kairuki, she supports project planning and execution, including organizing a radio campaign on mental health awareness and a blood donation drive. Previously, as Project Chair, she led the Elevate Mental Health campaign and a school outreach program. Her commitment to healthcare extends to neonatal care training, where she serves as a Master Trainer and Treasurer for Helping Babies Breathe-Kairuki, managing finances and facilitating newborn resuscitation training sessions. She has also contributed to medical education as a member of the Academic Committee for Kairuki University Student Association, helping organize events on maternal health, trauma life support, and clinical skills. Recognized for her academic performance, she was named Best Student in Psychiatry (2024) at Kairuki University. Khadija is passionate about expanding her research skills, particularly in mental health, and aims to contribute to medical knowledge through academic writing and research.
