Tyler Hepler

Tyler D. Hepler is a Research Associate at The Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research. He earned his B.S. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry and a Pre-Medical concentration from Sacred Heart University, where his undergraduate thesis investigated traumatic brain injury in athletes and its progression to chronic traumatic encephalopathy. At the Feinstein Institutes, Tyler conducts research in the Tracey-Chavan Lab, focusing on neuro-immune interactions and leveraging neural pathways as novel therapeutics for inflammation. His clinical research in transplantation has been presented and won awards at the American Transplant Congress, while his basic science research has been presented at scientific conferences, including SHOCK, the American Physiological Society, the Society for Neuroscience, and the American Association for Immunologists. He has co-authored four publications. Beyond research, Tyler is committed to mentorship and scientific advocacy. As Vice Chair of the Pre-Medical Committee at the American Physician Scientists Association (APSA) and the Institutional Representative for The Feinstein Institutes, he mentors undergraduate students and facilitates connections between aspiring and established physician-scientists
