Dear readers,

It is our pleasure to share the latest issue of the International Journal of Medical Students (IJMS). This issue includes a compelling editorial titled "Transforming Toxic Research Cultures: Protecting the Future of Medical Students and Early Career Researchers – Part I," alongside a diverse range of original articles. Highlights include a survey on antibiotic use awareness in the Indian community, a study on blindness disparities among racial/ethnic groups in Texas, and an evaluation of Instagram posts on tuberculosis. Additional articles explore menopausal symptoms in Indian women, the learning of intimate area examinations among Pakistani medical students, and the impact of skipping breakfast on sleep duration in medical students. The issue also features reviews on the impact of COVID-19 on the healthcare system, factors causing stress in medical students, and intriguing case reports on Bardet-Biedl Syndrome, disseminated tuberculosis, and Rifampicin-induced acute kidney injury. Finally, we include insightful experiences on medical student internships, research, and the emotional impact of patient loss.

We are also very pleased to announce that preparations for the third IJMS World Conference of Medical Student Research (WCMSR) are in full swing. The Conference will be held on October 26th, 2024 in the IJMS YouTube channel (view last year's conference here). Medical students and recent graduates (up to 3 years after graduation) can present their research to a global audience. Register here.

If you are interested in participating in this competition, please go through the conference rules and regulations in preparation to submit your abstracts.
